The build up of the Mini V8 is divided into seperate parts.
1-Building the Chassis
2-Preparation and painting
3-Reconstruction
Building the Chassis
A start is made with building a frame for the engine and the rear framework. The car will be build around this base.

An old body, which is basically hopeless, is bought. This will become the body of the MiniV8.

The front of the body was prepared first. Because of the large brakes 17 inch rims will be fitted. To achieve an acceptable turning circle the wheel fenders are adjusted. For extra cooling a large radiator is mounted.

The back of the old frame is sawed off to make room for the new frame with the V8 engine.

This is the result of the frame with the V8 engine mounted in it. The side boards are adjusted and broadened. The insides are fitted with plates to get a nice finished whole later on.

Preparation and painting
The body is prepared. After this the body is primed and painted.

Reconstruction
The car is totally prepainted and the reconstruction is started. The axles and all parts are painted with great care. The frontal brake disks are taken from a BMW M-Z3. The power assisted brakes, rear axle and the steering colomn are from an BMW M3 from 1995.

The brake disks are mounted. The front is fitted with AP brake calipers and the back is fitted with original BMW M3 brake calipers. The gearbox is also painted and fitted. Elect in the front. The power steering pump is taken from the new mini.

The wiring is put in. All the lights are working properly. The dashboard is starting to show its final form. The oil cooler, ignition and the battery are mounted and the gas tank is fitted.

The front of the car has almost everything in place. The rear lid is finished and mounted. The motor has been tested for the first time.
