Project CARS is being crafted by two passionate teams...

The first is Slightly Mad Studios - the team responsible for rebooting the Need For Speed franchise with the SHIFT series, celebrated 15 years of Test Drive with Ferrari Racing Legends, and created the critically-acclaimed GTR and GT Legends games.

The second is YOU.
Back in 2011, the idea for a fresh new racing game was put onto the web - one that covered a broad range of motorsports, included the most iconic locations from around the world, and focused on both new innovations and an attention to detail on the things gamers really appreciate and ask for.

It was going to be built from the ground up to compete in the big leagues; have world-class visuals and physics and authenticity, and be ready for a new generation of gamers - whether they're playing on a computer or a console, in 4K or in virtual reality.

And last but not least - YOU the players were going to be able to help.

Through the power of crowd-funding via the WMD Portal, gamers were able to join up and help the development team breathe life into that original concept, play regular work-in-progress builds of the game, give feedback, and mould that idea into what you see today.

Every screenshot you've seen, every trailer you've viewed, every tweet you've read has been from people like you that are passionate about games and eager for something new in the racing genre.
