Vettel 'too green for title'
Turkey error compounds earlier mistakes

Sebastian Vettel is not ready to mount a challenge for the world championship, according to Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The sports daily believes the 21-year-old is ‘too green for the title’, as evidenced by his mistake at the start of Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix.

Despite starting from pole position, the Red Bull driver ran off the road on the first lap, opening the door to runaway championship leader Jenson Button.

"The question is no longer whether Button becomes world champion, but when. Vettel is still too green for the title,” La Gazzetta claimed.

Referring to the Istanbul error, the newspaper added: "The Red Bull talent ruined everything with his fourth mistake of the season."

Spain's Marca agreed: "With his driving error, Vettel presented victory to Button on a silver tray."

Ross Brawn was asked by Germany's Auto Motor und Sport about Vettel's mistakes, but also the apparent strategy error committed by Red Bull in Turkey.

"I don't want to criticise my opponents, so all I will say is that they are behind in the championship, so it is logical that they have to take more risks.
"

In contrast, Brawn's Button is making perfect use of the best car in the field, former triple world champion Niki Lauda believes.

"The package is brilliant. But even then there can still be mistakes but he does not make mistakes. He is fully in control of every situation," the Austrian added.

Lewis Hamilton is the youngest world champion in F1's history, and like Vettel has sometimes been accused of making too many mistakes.

Speaking to Bild newspaper, the Briton said of Vettel: "He is only 21 years old and has already won three races. The pressure on him must be enormous, also because the Germans are looking for a new Michael Schumacher."

buen punto por un lado, Vettel claramente tiene muy buen potencial. Pero por el otro lado, y como hemos visto tantas veces, un piloto puede no siempre tener un carro ganador y si Vettel deja pasar esta es capaz que no vuelve a tener otra... es sólo una suposición por supuesto pero en realidad creo que ha quedado debiendo en algunas situaciones este año.

por cierto para los que prefieren el español...

Sebastian Vettel no está listo para luchar por el Campeonato del Mundo, según asegura hoy La Gazzetta dello Sport.

El prestigioso diario deportivo italiano cree que el piloto alemán de 21 años está aún 'demasiado verde para el título', tal y como quedó evidenciado con su error en la primera vuelta del GP de Turquía del pasado domingo.

A pesar de tomar la salida desde la pole, el piloto de Red Bull se salió ligeramente de la pista en la primera vuelta, dejándole el liderato y la victoria en bandeja al líder del Mundial, Jenson Button.

"La cuestión ya no es si Button logrará el título mundial, sino cuándo. Vettel está aún demasiado verde para el título," insistía La Gazzetta.

En referencia al error de Vettel en Estambul, el diario italiano añadía: "El piloto de Red Bull arruinó su carrera con su cuarto error de la temporada."

El diario español Marca coincidía con sus colegas italianos: "Con su error de pilotaje, Vettel le puso a Button la victoria en bandeja de plata."

A Ross Brawn se le preguntaba en Auto Motor und Sport por los errores de Vettel, pero también por la aparente estrategia errónea seguida por Red Bull en Turquía.

"No quiero criticar a mis rivales, así que todo lo que diré es que están por detrás en el Campeonato, así que es lógico que tomen más riesgos."

A diferencia de Vettel, Jenson Button está aprovechando a la perfección las prestaciones del mejor monoplaza de la parrilla, según afirma el que fuera tres veces Campeón del Mundo Niki Lauda.

"El conjunto de Brawn es brillante. Pero aún así, podrían aparecer los errores, pero Jenson no los ha cometido hasta ahora. Está controlando perfectamente la situación," añadía el austriaco.

Lewis Hamilton es el Campeón del Mundo de F1 más joven de la historia, y al igual que Vettel ha sido acusado a veces de cometer demasiados errores.

En declaraciones al diario Bild, el británico decía de Vettel que "sólo tiene 21 años y ya ha ganado dos carreras. La presión sobre él debe ser enorme, también porque los alemanes están buscando un nuevo Michael Schumacher."

no creo que Boton en un carro como el que le dan a Mamilton haga mucho mas que el grone, muchos pilotos son solo de carro de decente pa riba.

Vettel es una fuera de serie, asi de simple

es joven, debe de aprender muchas cosas aun... pero tiene todo una vida por delante y seguramente termine en ferrari o un equipo ganador(si es q no lo logra alguna vez en redbull)

esta verde? pues.. mas maduro que un poco de "verdes" que han tenido mas tiempo y mejores carros en la f1 y nunca han logrado ser campeones

creo que es muy válido lo que dice Rick... este mae es joven y tiene mucho talento y futuro en la F1...

Pero es interesante que después de que Vettel se llevara toda la atención a principios de año, Marky Mark ha venido calladito con muy buenas carreras y lo tiene pero cerquísima... esta nota está interesante.

If recent rumours are to be believed, an increasing tension has crept into the relationship between Red Bull Racing's team-mates.

With the exception of the Brawn duo, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber occupy the best car in the 2009 field, and their battle for third in the drivers' title is separated by just 1.5 points.

After finishing behind his more experienced team-mate in Turkey two weeks ago, Vettel was clearly unhappy that his championship charge had been road-blocked by the Australian.

"I don't think there is tension between Mark and Sebastian," David Coulthard, Webber's team-mate last year and now a consultant to the Milton Keynes-based team, said.

The Scot, speaking from Lima, Peru, where he demonstrated an F1 car, said inter-team rivalry is just a normal part of the sport.

"Of course you can't have two winners, so by definition if your team-mate is winning then you are losing. But that is a relationship that has always been the case in Formula One," Coulthard explained.

Writing in his latest column for the BBC, meanwhile, Webber admitted that trying to beat the highly rated 21-year-old is a source of great motivation.

"It's the first time I've had someone so quick as my team-mate, and I've always said that's what it's all about - at this level, you want to compare yourself to the best guys," he said.

"Vettel is hot property at the moment and he's done a great job to get where he is but there's just a point and a half between us in the championship.

"People ask me if I feel under pressure, but I think there's more pressure on Sebastian. In people's eyes, I'm not supposed to be doing what I'm doing. People think he's the new Schumacher and should be hosing it, but it's good that's not the case," added Webber.

He said their relationship is intact even though they are both trying to get the upper hand.

"The last two or three races have gone well for me and less well for Sebastian but things are fine between us," said Webber.

He insists it is too early in the season for Red Bull to select one driver to push for the drivers' title. "You could throw it all in with Sebastian but he crashed in Monaco so you've still got to give both cars the best chance to get the best result possible," he concluded.

totalmente circustancial q este a unos puntos de vettel, es como juzgar un partido de futbol en donde el marcador no se asemeja en nada a lo ocurrido en el juego

para mi vettel a sido superior a webber en la gran mayoria delas ocaciones y en mi opinion, muy personal, la unica manera en q weber termina delante de vetel en turquia, fue por enviar demasiado liviano a vettel en el segundo stint y toparse con button y no poderselo pasar

perdio tiempo, tiempo q desconto webber, de lo contrario se cumple la norma y no la exepcion


cuando termine el ultimo gp de este temporada vettel le tendra mas de 1.5punto a webber
