Mads Ostberg ha estado testeando para el Rallye de Portugal

Ayer le tocó a Mads Östberg comenzar los test para intentar revalidar la victoria del año pasado en Portugal.

Han sido en la sierra de Tavira y se puede ver que los tramos con el paso pierden la capa de barro y aparece el polvillo típico de Portugal; aunque los taludes y las zonas bajas contienen mucha humedad.

KUIPERS GETS QATAR M-SPORT CALL UP FOR PORTUGAL

M-Sport can today confirm that FERM driver, Dennis Kuipers, will make a return to the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) next week as he joins the Qatar World Rally Team fold for the 2013 Vodafone Rally de Portugal.

Kuipers will take to Juho Hänninen’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC as the Finn – who was due to make a welcome return to the team – is regrettably unable to attend due to personal reasons.

Kuipers is well versed when it comes to Rally de Portugal and M-Sport’s WRC specification Fiesta. Contesting the event last year, he and fellow countryman, Robin Buysmans – who will once again be calling the notes for the Dutchman – recorded one of their best ever results when they took their Fiesta RS WRC to sixth place overall.

Notably, Kuipers also holds the record for the best ever performance by a Dutch driver at rallying’s highest level – piloting a similar Fiesta RS WRC to fifth place at the 2011 Rallye de France - Alsace.

M-Sport send their wishes to Juho and his family, but look forward to working with Dennis and Robin once again.

Dennis Kuipers said:

“Firstly I want to send my best wishes to Juho [Hänninen] and his family and I am sure the team will agree that it won’t be quite the same without him and Tomi [Tuominen, Hänninen’s co-driver] in the service park.

“But I also need to say a big thank-you to Malcolm [Wilson] and Nasser [Al-Attiyah] for making it possible for me to compete in Juho’s absence. I really enjoy this event and it holds a lot of good memories for me. I can’t wait to get back to the WRC and I am really looking forward to working with M-Sport once again.”

El fin pasado se realizo el WRC Fafe en Portugal que fue un mini mini wrc en Portugal en la zona norte de Portugal en los tramos míticos de los 80's (en la actualidad se efectúa en el sur el WRC) como abre bocas para el wrc de este fin de semana y ara ver como se comportaba el publico ya que en el pasado hubo muchos problemas ahí (como se pueden ver en los vídeos del grupo b,etc), al parecer fue todo un exito el evento en uno de los tramos de 6km los organizadores digieron que llegaron más de 100 mil personas y ahora los organizadores del wrc están diciendo que el otro año la fecha de Portugal see va arealizar en esa zona. Por cierto el rally lo gano Danny Sordo

Como si de la presentación de una nueva saga de una película se tratase, el Rally de Portugal ha puesto la alfombra roja y ha encendido los focos para dar a conocer el Citroën DS3 R5, la nueva creación de la marca francesa que llega con la finalidad de abrir el camino al grupo PSA en lo que se refiere a la nueva reglamentación hasta la llegada de su primo hermano, el Peugeot 208 R5. El acto de presentación se ha realizado en el parque de asistencia de Faro esta misma tarde, antes de que comience el bullicio del Rally de Portugal que arranca en la jornada de mañana jueves.
