Saludos amigos foreros, tengo una consulta, ignoro casi completamente el tema de reglamentos para los campeonatos nacionales.
Mi duda es si este auto que es sin techo, no tiene problemas o restricciones para participar en nuestro campeonato o para las 3 horas, que es para cuando pretenden tenerlo listo.
Gracias por la aclaración, mi intención es saber para que no vayan a preparar un auto que al final no lo dejen competir.

siempre y cuando el auto tengo un roll bar que proteja al conductor, no le veo mayor problema..

Long overdue REPLY
First off let me say that I have been very busy in the past several weeks and unable to come here to keep everyone updated, I am sorry for that.
We have had several delays which made it immpossible for us to have the car fully prepared and able to run at it's best. Some of these delays were due to the shop, some were due to changes that I decided to make that required us to spend many more hours than we originally planned and lastly we are still waiting on some parts which are needed to run the car. All of this made us decide to not push for the 3 hours and instead get the car done correctly for 07'.
To answer some of the questions:
One question was about the safety of having an open top car, and about when it rains.
Open top racing cars are certainly not new and they do have some advantages as well as some dissadvantages over cars with hard tops. The open top car can be better aerodynamically since there is no windshild to cause drag. This is better at faster tracks and unfortunatly our track here is not very fast, so this advantage is minimal. The other advantage is in the case of a crash, it can be easier to exit the car quickly since you can go left, right, forward or to the rear as needed (in hard top cars it is usually just possible to go out the drivers side and sometimes the passenger side too). The weight of the car will usually be lower and sit lower down to the ground in an open top car. The dissadvantages are in the case of a roll over or when there is debris thrown up, because the driver has no windshild and roof to protect him, just the small/thin shild on his helmet. I have had large peices of concrete, suspention parts, rocks, and even a complete wheel and tire and hub come up at me before which can give you a good scare but quick thinking and some fast maneuvers have kept the damage to a few broken visors and deep scratches in my helmet. When it rains, well you get wet! The funny part is that even in dry conditions your suit gets completly soaked anyway so there is little difference. The visability can actually be much better in the rain since th drops are very close to your face and you can focus your eyes ahead which is easier than doing so though a windshild. You also run tearoffs to get rid of the rubber markes which build up.
Another question was about the 'legality' of running open top.
We asked permission to run open top and since the Boxster is an open top car normaly and the advantage is minimal if anything at all we were granted the right to do so.
Another question was about the transaxle we are running.
Right now we are running a Porsche Magnesium 5 speed transaxle with external cooling. This is not going to work well for us here as the gearing is all wrong. We are looking for other options which could be a later 993 Porsche 6 speed custom unit or we may go completely with somthing more competitive like a Hewland or Quaife unit. This is our number one problem with the car right now.

The engine is not stock. It is a 964 based Porsche block. We have custom ChMo rods, knife edged and x-drilled lightweight crankshaft, custom JE forged pistons, CMW big CNC ported heads, oversize valves, custom cams, TWM individual throttle body (6 units) induction, WOLF fuel injection, custom exhaust and more. I built this engine at 3.6 ltrs for a class I was running in the USA which had an advantage being 3.6 ltrs. I have built the same type of engine at 3.8, 3.9, 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 liters also. If I had built this for our race track here I would have gone 3.8 ltrs for GT2. If we move to GT1 later I will built it down to 2.2 ltrs and run twin turbochargers. But for now we will keep the 3.6 ltr displacement. This engine, despite its size can turn 9000 rpm safely but is no match for the 4 valve water cooled GT3RS and RSR engines of the new cars. These 4 valve engines will have 50-100 hp advantage over us.
I hope I got to all the questions. Unfortunatly I don't have any new pics as my charger for my camera is missing however I have included the CAD screen shot of the wing profile I designed for the car. Also a couple of cool videos you all may not have seen before.

Sinceramente no viene al caso el comentario, porque es que siempre alguien tiene que quejarse de idioteses asi si la verdad no esta afectando en nada a nadie, si no quiere opinar no opine porque esta en ingles y si quiere opinar entonces opine en español y ya deje que los que quieran opinar en el idioma que les de la gana lo hagan y listo. No es como si todos los dias pusieran opiniones en ingles de hecho este es el unico tema que he visto en ingles.

No sean tan lavah..., todo por un Porsche. El tema es interesante, pero si viene a CR que primero tenga respecto por el país y su gente y aprenda el idioma.
Creí que alguien se lo iba a decir, pero veo que más bien todos le siguen respondiendo en su idioma. O sea "MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO".

There are no stickers on it anymore due to the repaint and most the rally equipment is missing except for the two sets of rally lights. One set is hard mounted and the other set is removable. See the white pic enclosed has the removable style lights, the other picture is the hard mounted lights. The car does have the original rally seats, new matching correct rally interior panels (no door handles just leather straps to open the doors, and no rear seats just carpeting). The lightweight rear lid, bumpers, and hood are still on the car too. What is missing is the front underbody protection and the rear underbody protection. I have two exhaust systems for it too, the open megaphones and the muflers which can barely be called that.

A little update
The never ending repaint (OK rebody, de-rust, refit and repaint) is really really going to happen this week as I just delivered the paint!
The gearbox is being changed out as I was able to get a good deal on an old F1 Hewland Gearbox with Dog Gears. This is NOT the high tech and high dollar sequential shifted and computer controlled stuff the Almera car has but it is still a fast and strong gearbox that will be geared for our track here. It should give us a better car.
We also have decided to upgrade the brakes to six piston calipers in front and four piston in back with a much larger front and rear rotor combination. This should help us out too.
