- Lewis Hamilton se enfoca mas en la carrera que en la clasificación, dice sentirse muy optimista con respecto al ritmo de carrera en el MP4-27, en tandas largas se ha visto muy competitivo aunque aun le hace falta unos ajustes en cuanto al balance.

"The longer runs look competitive... It's the race I'm focusing on a little bit more than qualifying compared to the other races and we are improving consistency and the way we look after the tyres." Autosport

- Pat Fry dice que las mejoras que han llevado a Shangai le han permitido a Ferrari dar un paso adelante con respecto a los GP's anteriores pero que en este GP no serán muy evidentes debido a las características del circuito que no son las adecuadas para la F2012.

Pat Fry: "The first evaluation that we can make after these three hours of free practice is a positive one, but clearly we have hours of work ahead of us this afternoon and tonight to complete an in-depth analysis. On the other hand, we cannot ignore the fact that the characteristics of this track seem to be less suited to our car than Malaysia. Taking these two factors into consideration, I am not expecting anything new in terms of our positions on the grid. At the moment, our realistic expectation is somewhere between seventh and 12th place, as indeed we were in Sepang." Autosport

- Nico Rosberg siente que este fin de semana tendrán los mismos problemas para mantener los neumaticos durante la carrera, este circuito destruye los neumaticos muy rapido especialmente los delanteros, sera fundamental encontrar un set-up que ayude a contrarrestar el problema un poco.

"The big problem is with the tyres on this track, especially the front tyres, they destroy very easily so you have to be very careful and find a set-up for the car to help that...We can't expect to come here and all of a sudden win the race, it will take some weeks." Autosport

"The balance of my car had actually been better in the first free practice session compared to the afternoon," said Perez. "I wasn't too happy in the second free practice. I had problems with the brakes, which didn't work the way they should, and I lost too much front tyre temperature on the back straight." Autosport

- Bueno con el cambio en la configuración de los escapes en el RB8, ahora Vettel se siente mucho más comodo que con la que han venido utilizando en los primeros GP's

Los sensores aerodinamicos en la zona del difusor del MP4-27 de Lewis Hamilton durante la FP1 de este viernes.





Este ducto pertenece al famoso F-Duct de Mercedes, es el que lleva el aire que proviene del alerón trasero hasta la parte frontal, al otro lado se encuentra otro ducto similar.

De hecho si vemos bien la imagen anterior del RB8 de Mark Webber y vemos esta otra, se puede notar que el australiano estuvo probando diferentes configuraciones en el alerón trasero, con y sin el pilar que está en el centro!

La configuración de escapes en el RB8 de Webber que se implementó en los utlimos días de ensayos en Barcelona y que han utilizado hasta el momento, es una configuración similar a la de Sauber...



...mientras que en esta otra imagen se ve claramente la configuración que está utilizando Sebastian Vettel (configuración que se utilizó durante la pretemporada).



Lotus ha estado probando diferentes alerones delanteros en el E20, en esta imagen se ve claramente la diferencia entre ambas, mas que todo en los laterales.

Ferrari por su parte está probando un nuevo alerón trasero en la F2012 de Fernando Alonso y lo han cargado de parafina para ver que tal va el flujo de aire, de hecho parece que se les paso la mano jeje.

En estas dos imagenes se nota la diferencia del nuevo alerón que estuvo probando Alonso este viernes en las practicas que tiene dos hendiduras en forma de V justo arriba de la S y la D de Santander.

Una clara muestra del problema que está enfrentando Mercedes con los neumaticos en simulación de carrera:

"Schumacher conducted a nine-lap run on the medium tyres late in the session, while team-mate Nico Rosberg did an 11-lap run on the softs. Out at the same time was Lewis Hamilton's McLaren on the softs. The Merc appeared to generate instant tyre temperature – tricky in the cool (15-deg C) conditions – and Rosberg's first lap was 1.2s faster than Hamilton's. However, the McLaren's tyres appeared to be in the perfect window by the second lap – and the Merc's appeared to be already degrading.

Hamilton's run was only for six laps and so his times may well have been flattered by a lower fuel load – though the two teams usually make very similar fuel level choices. Whatever, on the second lap the Merc was 0.5s slower than Hamilton, then 0.7s slower, 1.2s slower and 1.4s slower on successive laps. In qualifying simulation Schumacher's Merc was around 0.1s faster than the McLaren."

Increíble la clasificación, gran tiempo de Rosberg para llevarse la pole.

Parece que la carrera va a estar muy interesante, habrá que ver qué pueden hacer los Mercedes largando desde la primera fila, de ahí para atrás también promete haber muchas emociones con muchos autos al parecer muy parejos.

Bueno esperemos un GP emocionante mañana, toca ver si los Mercedes logran traducir esto en victoria o si irán a caer debido a los problemas de degradación de neumáticos y la limitación para utilizar el DRS. Kimi Raikkonen podría dar sorpresa mañana, o Button sacarse otro as bajo la manga!

Toca reconocer la pesima eleccion de Vettel con respecto a los escapes, pero no todo esta perdido, mañana podria ir con una estrategia arriesgada, talvez repetir los planes de Malasia de partir con el compuesto medio.

Parte de la entrevista a Sebastian Vettel en la pagina oficial de la Formula 1:

Q: Your team mate Mark Webber was fastest in Q2 and was running the new exhaust system whilst you opted to run the old one. Do you regret your decision now?
SV: I opted for this solution on Friday afternoon simply because I felt more comfortable with this version. This morning it didn’t feel that good anymore, so of course you start to think. But in the afternoon it had improved again but unfortunately not enough. With hindsight it is always easy to blame it on a wrong decision, but that decision felt right for me at that moment. Of course we will have to sit down and look into the matter to avoid such a situation in the future.

Lo que decía sobre la estrategia que podria volver a intentar RBR y Vettel de partir con los neumáticos medios.

Q: From the first two races of the season, we’ve seen it’s not necessarily the pole sitter who wins the race. So are you hopeful for Sunday?
SV: Yes, it will be a long and demanding race so there should be some chances to better the position. But of course it is always easier to start at the front and stay there. I have a new set of tyres still left so I can start on whatever tyres I like and that is probably the only positive in this situation. It may make life a bit easier tomorrow.

Kimi Raikkonen no quedó satisfecho con el ritmo del E20 durante la sesión de clasificación, terminó en la cuarta posición (gracias al castigo de Hamilton) a unas 7 decimas de la Pole, pero dijo que esperaba estar un poco más cerca de los punteros.

"It was not too bad, but I am a bit disappointed with the gap to the front and I think we were stronger in the last race than we were here, the grid position is okay but when you look at the times, I'm disappointed with the pace of the car today. Jenson Button es consciente del buen ritmo de carrera que tiene el C31 y ve a Kamui Kobayashi como un fuerte rival, Button espera que los Mercedes caigan poco a poco en cuanto al ritmo de carrera pero no espera lo mismo de Kamui.

"It's not easy starting from where we are, but most of the cars in front are ones that we are quicker than in the race, the one that is unusual is Kobayashi. Their [Sauber's] pace seems very good on long runs. I think he's going to be pretty tricky tomorrow." - Via Autosport

La FIA le llamó la atención a Pastor Maldonado y a Pedro de la Rosa por bloquear a otros pilotos durante la clasificación.

"Williams driver Maldonado was under investigation for having blocked Caterham's Heikki Kovalainen, who said after qualifying that he was expecting the Venezuelan to be penalised... De la Rosa was reprimanded for having impeded Maldonado's team-mate Bruno Senna during Q1." - Via Autosport
