Este pasado fin de semana se corrio la primera fecha del campeonato nacional de Usa el Star.s of Karting.

Daniel Formal participo de una forma impecable ganando la clasificacion, precarrera 1- 2 y tercer puesto en la precarrera 3.

En las finales Danny fue sacado por otro piloto en una carrera en la lluvia, queda resagado al puesto 31, pero le puso todo y llego en 9 puesto.

Para la final 2 Danny salio con muchas ganas y se impuso contundentemente el la final 2 en una carrera donde la lluvia era torrencial.

Proxima fecha sera el fin del mes en Utha en el Stars of Karting West

DANIEL FORMAL VICTORIOUS IN OCALA

“Formal begins Stars national title chase with a win”



Ocala, Florida –April 9, 2008 – Advanced Karting team driver Daniel Formal had a successful start to his 2008 national karting campaign as the talented junior took home a feature race win at the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series this past weekend. With the event taking place at the Ocala Gran Prix facility just north of Orlando, Florida, Formal took the pole, two heat race wins and a main event victory.



After successfully claiming the Florida Winter Tour Rotax Junior championship, Formal was looking to continue his success and chase the national championship. After claiming one of the quickest times in Friday afternoon’s timed sessions, Formal and his Advanced Karting TonyKart claimed the pole position in qualifying and an ever important front row starting position for the three heat races.



After claiming victories in heat races one and two on Saturday, Formal finished third in Sunday’s final heat race. As the rain began to fall early Sunday afternoon, Formal was feeling confident that he would be the driver to beat as he is a master in wet weather racing.



Final one did not go as planned for the Floridian pilot as he and another competitor made contact early in the event. Formal was sent spiraling down the running order but would not quit. Looking to gain as many championship points as possible, Formal pushed hard for all 21 race laps and managed to work his way back into the top ten claiming a ninth place result.



Looking to better his result in final two, Formal did just that as he ran away from the field. As the rain began to fall harder, Formal was more at ease with his surroundings and circuited the OGP facility at a blistering pace. Formal would not put a wheel wrong in this final and would stand atop the podium for his first career Stars of Karting victory.



Formal will enjoy little time off as he and his team will travel to the Stars of Karting West division opener in two weeks time. With the event taking place at the fast Miller Motorsports Park facility in Tooele, Utah, Formal will look to continue his charge towards the national title.
