A BMW Sauber technician was injured yesterday with an electric shock given off by the experimental Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) equipped F1.07C car. The incident occurred when test driver Christian Klien pulled into the pits and the technician touched the car for the first time following a test run at Jerez.

“During testing of the KERS car at the Jerez track this morning, there was an incident involving a mechanic,” a BMW Sauber spokesman explained. “When the car returned to the pits, he touched it and suffered an electric shock. He sustained slight injuries to his left hand and grazing on his left arm.”

The technician was taken to the circuit’s medical centre for a brief examination before rejoining the test team. An investigation is underway to determine the cause.

Segun tengo entendido de lo poco que he leido, el KERS o sistema de recuperacion de energia cinetica, la cual es la energia que se da por el movimiento de cuerpos, es un dispositivo que almacena energia electrica para que el piloto disponga de unos cuantos caballos extra cuando estripe un boton y libere la carga almacenada. Esto es un dispositivo electrico y posiblemente creo una gran corriente estatica, por eso no afecto al piloto, el es parte del sistema, pero cuando el mecanico lo toco, e hizo contacto, al estar el parado sobre la tierra. o calle, paso a traves de el esta corriente estatica.

Pudo haber sentido algo parecido a cuando uno siente un jalonaso cuando toca el carro, pero lo mas seguro bastante mas fuerte.

Si alguien ha leido mas y lo puede explicar mejor o estoy metiendo las patas.. jeje!! aqui estamos todos aprendiendo.
