El piloto costarricense Amadeo Quirós correrá una fecha de la Pirelli Cup de los Estados Unidos, competencia que se realizará entre el 9 y 10 de mayo en el circuito del Miller Motorsports Park en Utah, Estados Unidos.

Ojala que esta carrera previa a la Patron Challenge le sirva Amadeo para conocer el circuito bien y al mismo auto y poder tener un buen desempeño.
Por cierto en este Campeonato con el que va a correr esta carrera el Pirelli Drivers Cup, es exclusivo para Porsches 997 GT3 Cup (2005 a 2009) y 996 GT3 Cup (2000 a 2005).

Description
The American Le Mans Series returns to Miller Motorsports Park with the most exotic, high-tech sports cars on the planet, with some of the world's best drivers at the controls.
The series is comprised of four classes: LMP1, for the bigger prototypes, like the new Acura ARX-02a and the hybrid-powered Zytec Q10 fielded by Salt Lake City-based Corsa Motorsports; LMP2, for the smaller prototypes such as the Mazda-Lola B09/86 coupe and Acura ARX-01; GT1, for the bigger production cars such as the Corvette C6.R and the Aston Martin DBR9; and GT2, for the smaller production cars such as the BMW M3, Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, Ferrari F430 GT, Aston Martin Vantage, Ford GT-R, Dodge Viper Competition Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette C6 and Panoz Esperante.
The Utah Grand Prix will be the last track time for many of the teams before they head to France for the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, which takes place in mid-June.

The series has a rich history that dates back to 1974, and counts among its alumni such renowned pilots as Gilles Villeneuve, Keke Rosberg, Bobby Rahal, Danny Sullivan, Michael Andretti, Jacques Villeneuve, Jimmy Vasser, Geoff Brabham, Paul Tracy, Patrick Carpentier, Sam Hornish Jr., Dan Wheldon, A.J. Allmendinger, Graham Rahal and Danica Patrick. The series utilizes American-built carbon-fiber Swift 016.a chassis powered by 2.3-liter Mazda-Cosworth four-cylinder engines capable of producing 300 hp, with top speeds approaching 175 mph.

Formula BMW Americas
Formula BMW Americas is an open-wheel development series created by BMW to foster new talent. In its seventh year worldwide, Formula BMW has become a top choice of karters around the world to make the progression to racecars. The series provides a strong platform of races along with a diverse Education and Coaching program. With the help of championship series held in Germany, England, North and South America and Asia, Formula BMW takes talented young drivers who have outgrown the kart track and introduces them to professional motor racing. The series customarily attracts fields averaging 25 cars. The chassis are built by Mygale, and are powered by 1200cc BMW four-cylinder engines. Series alumni include Graham Rahal, Tom Milner Jr., Andreas Wirth, Richard Philippe, James Davison and actor Frankie Muniz.

Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup
The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup, sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, is an innovative new racing series, launched in 2008, that utilizes identically prepared clean-diesel-powered Volkswagen Jetta TDIs driven by up-and-coming young racers aged 16 to 26. The series showcases Volkswagen's clean-diesel technology and also gives young racers a chance to get valuable experience and exposure at major racing events across America. The concept is as revolutionary as the car, which is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder TDI, clean-diesel engine. The Jetta TDI is lightly modified from spec, featuring race-ready suspension and brakes and a six-speed double-clutch automatic DSG transmission

The STAR Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear is another open-wheel development series, one that has been in existence since 1991. It is a popular stepping-stone for young racers trying to make the transition from karting to the professional ranks. With Mazda's creation in 2006 of a ladder system to help youngsters from karting to either open-wheel or sedan professional racing, it bridges the gap between the BFGoodrich Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda and the Cooper Tires Presents the Champ Car Atlantic Series Powered by Mazda.

The Patron GT3 Challenge by Yokohama is a series designed for Porsche GT3 Cup race cars, and is a cooperative effort among the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), Porsche Motorsports North America (PMNA) and tire manufacturer Yokohama. The series, which debuted in 2005, allows amateur and semi-professional drivers, those who do not make their living in motorsports, to compete in a professional environment as part of select American Le Mans Series weekends.

The IMSA Lites presented by Frisby Performance Tire is a developmental series for small-bore sports prototypes. The series' inaugural season was 2006, and it is comprised of three classes: L1, L2 and L3. The L1 class runs Van Diemen/Elan DP02 chassis powered by sealed 2.3-liter Mazda four-cylinder engines; The L2 class runs West WR-1000L chassis powered by sealed Kawasaki ZX 1000cc engines; and the L3 class runs Formula SCCA sports cars (a unique Van Diemen design that can accommodate either open-wheel or sports prototype bodywork) powered by a 2.3-liter Mazda four-cylinder.

Es un prototipo bastante pequeño ,es un motor de 2000 c.c.es una categoria que existe en USA y todos tienen el mismo motor y caja

Hola ,muchas gracias a todos los que estan haciendo barra jejejeej,les cuento que el jueves y viernes tendremos 2 pràcticas de 30 minutos cda dia y la clasifucacion es el sabado en la mañana y la 1era carrera el sabado en la tarde.El domingo sera la segunda a las 10.30 am y la salida dependera de la vuelta ma ràpida que tengamos en la carrera
