El circuito de Mount Panorama fue construido en la década de 1930 como una ruta turística y el 16 de Abril 1938 con la primera carrera, el Trofeo de Turismo de Australia, se abrió. El curso tiene una longitud de 6.213 kilometros y consta de dos secciones completamente diferentes.
