excellent news!!! so there´s a small chance to see that porsche in a month, that would be terrific :lol: if not, at least theres a category for it for the 06 championship and I don´t mind waiting a few months to hear it, thats great news for a almost dead category, hopefully more drivers and competitive cars will join you next year, good luck and keep the good news coming!!!

As to when the car will test.....It depends on how much longer the paperwork takes for customs to let the car in and finally take my money for taxes (you would think they would be anxious to take my money!)! Each time they ask for the 'last' piece of paperwork, they find something new they want (if I didn't know any better I would say they are doing it on purpose)! The last item they asked for should be ready early next week so the car could be out and being worked on the end of next week. I would like to test with at least a week or two before the race to have some time to make any nessesary changes. It is going to be really really tight on time!

P.S. The yellow car is a 911 w/3.0 ltr making 290 HP. I designed the race wheels too. They are not made for looks (they do look OK) but the spoke design is very strong and they are also hand grips to remove the wheels during pit stops. I also designed them with 10 holes for the wheel studs so that they are easy to just push on without looking to line things up. They are a little strange also in construction to save weight. I had them made in a two piece design then CNC TIG welded together which made these lighter than most wheels but even stronger than bolt-together wheels. The centers are forged. These wheels are also on my Boxster. to give you an idea how light they are, my 18"/13" wheels are 17 lbs each!

awesome toys bud!, , i am industrial designer so i tell you that design job on the wheels looks really great ! only I think they'd look better with a single wingnut :twisted:


perhaps may you want to make a show to introduce your car to CRs race fans?? , I could offer you our installations where you can test your car performance at our 4x4 dinamometer at any cost for you , you could invite some people and media coverage ...

The Boxster is running WOLF 3D injection that is not tuned yet. Needs full mapping on the dyno.

The 944 is only in need of a quick couple of pulls to blow out the cobwebs and make sure she is all there.

Several Grand Am teams and ALMS teams are running my wheels in centerlock style. My car was not allowed to run them hence the 5 lug pattern. By the way, the five lug is usually lighter due to the added strength needed in the hums and carriers for centerlocks, the advantage is in pit stops.

Just a little update...

The Boxster continues to have 'paperwork' issues but it looks like some of the process has been approved so we are making slow progress! No way she will rin on the 11th though at this point.

The Porsche 944 is still on hold awaiting some interpretation of the rules and classification questions to be answered. If we dont get an answer this week, we will not have engough time to get the car here in time to run on the 11th.

I still have my fingers crossed! I still hope to run next month!

The Porsche 944 will NOT be allowed to run in Costa Rica. We were hoping to run the car in TS1 or GT3 and simply add weight to account for the 2495cc engine which is over the 2000cc limit. As previously discussed the Porsche 944, BMW 323/325, and so many other cars with 2001cc to 3000cc engines are simply not able to run in Costa Rica since the ONLY class for them is GT2 which is too fast for these cars. We were hoping that rules would be added to simply require higher running weights to compensate for the larger engines. Unfortunatly the answer is no.

I have asked if it is possible to reconfigure the car to a 924 or 933 which is the same chassis and configuration as the 944 but with 2000cc engines. This is not what I was hoping for since the engine in the 944 is brand new but I really think it would be nice to run the car here. I am willing to build a new engine to make this car able to compete here. So I am awiting an answer.

you don't loose your time with complications , you better take all time and focus on Boxter project ... you may perhaps think in a new turbo machine for next year so it can be a competitive car in GT1 ...

you should start running in gt2 just for the points, and then little by little learn and find the way to be competitive. there must be a way...... right????


I mean most of the races of gt2 only had 1 car so it shouldnt be that bad.

I guess it seems a little funny to have two race cars. Maybe it seems excessive? I would tend to agree. I mean how many race cars can one guy drive after all? Ultimetly I hate to let the 944 go, I just built it. I can allways try to sell it in the USA but I thought that it would be more fun to bring it here, get it working well here and sell in the next year or two. Besides we need more European cars on the track! I have nothing against the Asian cars but my love is more focused on the European cars.

I would consider the option of building the Boxster to run GT1. I would require a new engine running turbochargers and lots of $$$$, but we will see after I have a few races in GT2 with the car.
