Este C5R es 2002, obtuvo 3 victorias en el 2003 .

Es un gran auto, exactamente Ricardo es el hermano del Corvette que posteamos y que al final 2 pilotos Centroamericanos lo querian, pero ya se habia vendido, Bueno queda este ojala ahora si se vaya para Centroamerica.

El C5 que usted dice, es el que era de PK racing, tuvo el añom pasado en casi todas las carreras en el podium, fue el que posteamos , que ya se vendio, el hermanito de este. que posteo Ricardo.

Si, éstos C5R´s han demostrado ser "muy competitivos" en la GT1 FIA; de hecho tienen mejor "record de victorias" que los C6R´s; ésta nota habla de ciertos cambios, que hacen que el C6R se comporte "diferente";

"Both the chassis and the aerodynamic package changed considerably," explained Steve Wesoloski, GM Racing road racing group manager. "The new regulations required more extensive use of the production car's chassis structure, retaining items such as the central drivetrain tunnel, the windshield frame and the rear bumper. These requirements affected the C6.R's weight distribution, and we had to understand how that change influenced its on-track performance. We also introduced new low-friction suspension attachments that made the car quicker to react, and that required the engineering team to make corresponding changes in the setup throughout the season.

Sería "magnífico" poder "tener" aquí un carro de éstos; es un GT1 de las "grandes ligas"; que sin duda elevaría aún más el nivel que ya se tiene aquí.

What the Corvette C5-R has achieved in six years of sports car racing is on par with the great ones, including an overall victory in the Daytona 24-hour race, three 1-2 finishes in the GTS class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the past four years, three straight class wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring and four consecutive manufacturers’ championships in the American Le Mans Series. The Corvette C5-R was, simply, the best.

In 2004 the Corvette Racing team won every single race it entered, captured every pole position in each ALMS event, broke countless track records and did not suffer any unscheduled mechanical failures: over 10 races, no engine changes were required, no tires ran flat, no gearboxes needed swapping and no electrical problems surfaced. The same qualities that made the civilian Corvette J.D. Power’s #1 Premium Sports Car in Initial Quality seemed to be found in the racing variant as well.

Ahora y viendo las especificaciones me pregunto lo siguiente... qué tan competitivo podrá ser ese carro aquí con 750 HP y el peso calculado en base a 7000 cc? Creo que estaría en desventaja peso potencioa respecto a otros... o me equivoco?

Claro, todo esto pasa a segundo plano si resulta ser que esos valores con con restrictor de admisión FIA. Eso cambia la historia completamente porque sería como desencadenar una bestia.

Es correcto !
Además de que, mucho mas importante que "el caballaje", realmente el punto "fuerte" de éstos motores está, en la cantidad de "TORQUE" que tienen, y la "curva" que dan ; vean que no son muy "girones" ( 7000 rpm ); y no es porque se "rajen" después de ahí, sino que ya a 6.000 rpm´s dan "toda la leche", lo que además hace que sean muy "duraderos".
