"...Rather than lose aero potential with a lower nose or suffer airflow separation over the step, Newey has created a slot and rounded section to the step in between these two sections. The usual driver cooling inlet has been moved from the tip of the nose to a wide slot in the step region. Air flows up the nose, some enters the slot and the rest spills over the rounded upper lip. This creates a tumbling aerodynamic effect, that keeps the airflow attached to the flat surface behind the nose. Despite speculation, Newey confirmed the air flowing into the slot simply enters the cockpit to cool the driver."

"Ferrari has admitted its new car is not delivering what it had been hoped for so far - but it has faith that it can get on top of its issues before the first race of the season."
"While main title rivals McLaren and Red Bull Racing have both openly declared their satisfaction with the early indications from their car, Ferrari is more circumspect about where it is at with its new challenger."
Pat Fry: "I am not happy with where we are at the moment."
"I think there is a lot of room for us to improve from where we are. Reliability wise it is good. Performance wise I think we are okay, but we can play around with the performance and improve [the car in] some corners and some particular parts of the corner, but I would not say I am happy yet until we get the whole thing working."

"One area that Alonso feels the team has sorted is the tyre warm-up issue that Ferrari suffered last year."
"The strong point of the car from what I've seen so far is the tyre warm-up," he said. "It seems we can extract the maximum on the opening lap, something we couldn't do last year. As for things to improve, the aerodynamics and reliability, because between yesterday and today we have done few laps."

Re: F1 PRETEMPORADA 2012 - NOTICIAS, COMENTARIOS, Y MAS!!!
